The Deputy speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Lasun Yusuf has vowed to turn around the economic situation of Osun State if elected as governor come 2018.

This was even as he said the state’s infrastructural drive had not in any way translate to economic development.

Hon.Yusuff said this on Saturday while fielding questions from journalist.

The lawmaker who decried the present economic situation of the state saying “it is in crisis”

He also bemoaned the education sector which he said is in bad shape, in his words “in Osun Education is no longer there”.

Hon. Yussuff opined that Osun as Osun is in a critical position, it must not be left in the hands of those he referred to as “Charlatans.

The Deputy Speaker who is eyeing the number one seat in Osun state, said if elected governor, the situation of the state no matter how bad, can be salvaged.

He noted further that he has a clear vision of how both infrastructural and economic development can be achieved for the benefit of the people of the state.

According to him “Clear sense of responsibility is important for any leader or aspiring leader”, saying things would be done differently if he ever becomes the governor.

In the chat, Yusuff took a swipe at the educational position, Infrastructure and economic development of Osun state promising that things will change if given the opportunity to govern.

“If you’re a governor or aspiring governor and you say you have 6 points agenda or 9 points agenda, it’s rubbish, I’m very sure of that”.

” People talk about infrastructure, infrastructure that is not targeted at economic development is no infrastructure. So, it means at any point in time when you’re talking about infrastructure, you’re talking about economic development. Once, you’re not able to link the two, then you don’t know what you’re doing”.

“For example, if you decide to construct roads, it’s better for you to construct roads where you can take people to farm and for them to be able to bring farm produce outside, than to construct roads for those who use it luxurious items”.

Awolowo was not stupid when he went inside the bush throughout the Southwest in those days to do farm settlements. Was he stupid? Why didn’t he concentrate on Ibadan, Abeokuta, Osogbo and start doing things” He queried.

Yusuff who is contending for the governorship ticket on APC says he is hopeful to make a turn around for the state if elected.

“When you talk about infrastructure development, you’re talking about economic development, so, I’m going to link the two together to make sure that whatever infrastructural provisions we make translate to economic development”.
