Revenge: Victim Cuts Alleged Rapists Manhood

An alleged rapists manhood was cut with razor by his victim in Katsina State while attempting to rescue herself.

One Bishir Yau, 30, of Yargase village in the Kankara Local Government Area of the state, was arraigned before a Katsina Senior Magistrate’s Court on allegations of rape.

The offence was said to be contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code.

While arraigning Bashir, the police Prosecutor told the court on Monday that sometime in May, he allegedly lured the 14-year-old victim, who was residing in the same house with him, into a nearby uncompleted building and “forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with her .”

The police charge sheet with number, KT /741 X/ 17, read in court, said, “While struggling to free herself from the suspect, the victim picked up a razor and cut his manhood .”

Police prosecutor, Inspector Kabir Mohammed, pleaded for adjournment till another date, stating that investigation was still in progress .

The magistrate, Hajiya Fadile Dikko, however adjourned the case, directing that Bishir be remanded in police custody.

In her words, “This court will not ask you whether the allegation read and explained to you is true or false as the offence of rape will be tried at a high court.

“After police investigation , your case file will be taken to the Ministry of Justice for legal advice. If a prima facie case is established against you, then you will be tried at the high court.”

Cases of rape of underaged girls have increased in the state lately.
