Reactions Trail Fire Incident that Ravaged Oba Akiolu’s Palace
Nigerians are claiming that the fire incident at the Oba of Lagos palace on Tuesday is a result of his snub of the Ooni of Ife in public a week ago.
Oba Rilwan Akiolu is said to have been taken to a safe place, while officials of Lagos State Fire Service battled the inferno.
The real cause of the fire outbreak is still unknown at the moment.
The incident is coming barely one week after the Oba publicly shunned the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and some Nigerians feel there is some sort of connection between the two events.
Some of their reactions on Twitter read:
Adedamola @damoche: Oba of Lagos probably has just ‘commercial’ juju. Ooni of Ife’s is original, military grade. He should have known.
Xcel 101 @Sir_XceL: A week after the Oba of Lagos embarrassed the Ooni of ife, there’s a fire at the Oba’s palace… Coincidence? I think not
The Godfather @Ayourb: Who remember the famed Alaafin vs Bode Thomas & how it ended? Well, go & research. Oba of Lagos palace is on fire but thankfully he is safe.
Babanla @biolakazeem: So I hear the Oba of Lagos’ palace is on fire. Reminds me of the Bode Thomas & former Alaafin episode. For many years,I didn’t believe it.
THE- Ⓜakaveli @Undarey: Ambode should appoint delegates, lets goan beg Ooni on behalf of Oba of Lagos and we Lagosians, before fire starts raining in Lagos.
Adewale @mysterlawk: Oba of Lagos. Palace. Fire. Ooni of Ife in his imperial form and class
Omo-Oshodi @Eguavoen_Oshodi: Hmm! But I thought Ooni said he’s forgiven Oba of Lagos ? Why did he still send sango to visit him. OR Sango use his initiatives Ni.
