Osun Lawmaker, Waseeu Adebayo Empowers 5, 0000 Constituents

No fewer than 5,000 constituents of Olorunda state constituency in Osun state benefited from the empowerment programme put together by Hon. Adebayo Waseeu, the lawmaker representing Olorunda state constituency in the state House of Assembly.

The programme that has been on for the past five years according to the lawmaker is part of the effort to fulfill his electioneering campaign and had impacted positively on the lives of the beneficiaries.

Addressing the mammoth crowd who converged at Olorunda Local government Secretariat, Osogbo during the empowerment, Hon Adebayo said the programme was part of his constituency projects aimed at bringing dividends of democracy to people at the grassroot.

The lawmaker noted that the beneficiaries were selected based on their need and state of their economy irrespective of their political afflictions and associations.

He said in this year scheme he has distributed Generators, Sewing Machines, Dryers, Vulcanising Machines, Grinding Machine to artisans to boost their work.

Cheque of #1,200,000 was also issued to unions, such as Nigeria Union of Teachers, Equity Movement, Equity Women Vanguard, RAF C, women Solidarity, G40, Omoluabi Group, Association of Drummers Osogbo Zone, D Mobilizer, D Young, Unity Forum to shared accordingly.

Those who also benefited in the empowerments are newspapers vendors with distribution of news stand cubicles for 5 vendors at various junctions like Old Garage, Ayetoro and Biket junction in Osogbo.

Five mini buses were also distributed to drivers including thirty four (34) Motorcycles which were given to Okada riders to reduce the rate of employment.

The lawmaker however doles out a cash sum of #20,000 traders to boost their trade and businesses.

Adebayo maintained that the scheme had assisted students of the constituency with bursary to lessen the financial burden on their parents and to place the constituency on the verge of education development.

Hon Adebayo who submitted that he had been using the opportunity given to him by his people for the service of humanity explained that he had sponsored bills that had direct impact on the lives of his people.

The lawmaker maintained that the present administration in the state had made people the centre piece of his administration hence the need for all political functionaries to complement efforts of government to improve social well being of the people.

He urged people of his constituency to support the present administration in the state in his quest to reposition the state for socio economic development.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondents expressed their gratitude and happiness to the lawmaker urged others to follow suit
