Independence: Osun Guber Aspirant, Gboyega Alabi Urges Youths To Participate In Politics
A gubernatorial aspirant in Osun state, Benedict Gboyega Alabi (BOA) has felicitated with the people of Nigeria and Osun state in particular on 57th independence celebration.
Alabi in a statement personally signed and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo on Sunday said ” As we mark yet another year of our national life, we must remember the heroes and heroines of our independence. The men and women of vision who fought for the freedom and self-rule we all now celebrate.
“We must reflect on the very ideals of self-determination that propelled our young, vibrant and confident founding fathers to the lofty dreams to build our own nation where peace and justice reign. A nation where equality, fairness and mutual respect would be the hallmark of our nationhood.
“Our present crop of leaders should be reminded, that patriotism, commitment to service and love for the masses were the only joy of those heroes who risked their freedom to get us independence. We must reflect on our history, learn from the mistakes of our past so that we can design a better future for our generations yet unborn.”
The statement read further “Let our youth find enough encouragement in the fact that those who fought for this celebrations were mostly people under fourty. I therefore challenge our young people to get onboard and participate actively in moving our nation to where it should have been. “
