Eid-El-Kabir: Osun Speaker Urges Adherence To Virtues

The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Najeem Salaam has felicitated with the Muslim faithful in Osun and cross the country over the celebration of Eil-Eil-Kabir festival.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Goke Butika, Speaker Salaam said “Eid el Kabr symbolizes sacrifice, perseverance and faith in Almighty God, the three virtues demanded of any human person to weather the storm of life and I urge our people to imbibe the virtues for our common good”.

Salaam reiterated that all men of faith and books would make the world a better place if they eschew selfish desire for national interest, as a sacrifice; persevere the pains of change of old order in order to have a better future and have faith in the Supreme God and their government.

The epeaker asked Muslim faithful to learn from Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham) robust patience and prayer which later translated his requests from God to answers in quantum, urging that Osun people should be patient with their elected government at all levels on democratic deliveries, for resources are limited, while challenges are bigger and accumulative.

He felicitated with Muslim leaders and faithful across the state as they celebrate Eid El Kabr; lauding Governor Rauf Aregbesola for keeping faith with “free rail transport” policy for Osun people living along Lagos, Ogun and Oyo state corridors despite the economic challenge which has since kept the arrow of the financial indicators southward.
