Ondo 2016: Mimiko Joins Forces With Akeredolu, Allies May Defect to APC on Thursday
Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State might have resolved to support governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Rotimi Akeredolu for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
Indication emerged on Monday that Mimiko’s allies in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been having meetings with some leaders of the APC in the state and national levels with the aim of tangible negotiation ahead of the election.
CityMirrorNews learnt that the Mimiko’s allies might defect to the APC on Thursday as agreed after the meetings.
Mimiko is contemplating a deal that would ensure that he pulled the string to ensure victory for the APC Akeredolu, following the declaration of Mr Jimoh Ibrahim as the governorship candidate of the PDP in the state.
According to sources, Mimiko’s meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari was actually facilitated by Minister of Mineral Resources, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
