The Chairman, Ibadan North-West Caretaker Chairman, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun has advocated for attitudinal change by Nigerians for the progress, unity and development of Nigeria.
Dr Olatunbosun who bemoaned what he described as negative an unpleasant perception of Nigeria by her citizens, said there is need for all Nigerians to imbibed the ‘Change Begins with Me’ project of President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Dr Olatunbosun, the ‘unpatriotic attitude’ of some Nigerians is responsible for the slow pace of development of the country and her dented image among the comity of nations.
The council boss stated this on Thursday in an interview with CityMirrorNews in Ibadan, Oyo State in commemoration of the 56th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence.
Dr Olatunbosun, who is a political analyst, said there is greater hope for the country, adding that the country has witnessed tremendous political development despite the problems she encountered at initial stage.
He stated that Nigeria is a great country blessed with good people of impeccable characters who can pilot the country to greater heights.
On Nigeria’s economy recession, Dr Olatunbosun stated that all states of the federation must key into the proactive steps of President Buhari to restructure the country’s economy and generate more income for the country through Agriculture.
Dr Olatunbosun disclosed that Oyo state government has embraced the diversification of economy programme as it has commenced an agricultural programme tagged ‘Agric Oyo’ aimed at providing food, generating more income and creating more employment.
This, according to him, would complement President Buhari’s effort at ensuring that life is more meaningful and abundant for the people of the country.
He also advocated for team work among the three arms of government at formulating and implementing policies that would bring out the country from the current economic hardship.
The council boss expressed his optimism that Nigeria will soon overcome her challenges and be a country of pride for her citizens.
Dr Olatunbosun maintained that the task of moving the country forward cannot be left to the government alone, hence the need for people to contribute their quota to the development of the country.
