Recession: Osun Muslim Community advice Nigerians to imbibe Buhari’s change mantra

Osun State Muslim Community, OSMC, on Monday September 26, 2016, urged Nigerians to imbibe the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari and migrate from bad to good behaviour.
The President of OSMC, Sheikh Salahudeen Olayiwola, gave the advice during a press conference organized as part of activities to herald hijrah 1438A.H at OSMC Secretariat, Surulere, Ring-Road, Osogbo.
Olayiwola, who was represented by the first Vice President, Osun state Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi, said the lesson of hijra, if well implemented, would help in solving economic problem.
He maintained that the only solution to the current suffering is to imbibe the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari, which he said was the message of Prophet Muhammad when he migrated from Makkah to Medina.
“This is the time for change. The change that the president is preaching must be supported by all. We have to support the president if we are really ready for progress. Prayer alone cannot solve the current problem,” he stated.
The Muslim leader also lauded the state Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, for ensuring quick return of the hajj pilgrims, disclosing that all the pilgrims would participate in this year hijra celebration.
“I want to happily inform you that unlike previous years, all our new Makkah/Medina pilgrims will participate fully in the event. This is due to the efficient and superb hajj arrangements put in place by the governor Aregbesola’s administration that facilitated the early take off and return of Osun state pilgrims.
In his earlier address, the second Vice President of OSMC, Alhaji Sodiq Bello, while giving hajj history, said that Prophet Muhammad migrated because of the victimization and harassment of him and his followers in Makkah.
He stated that the Prophet, despite the problem he faced from non-Muslims, accommodated every religion while in Medina, urging Muslims to maintain tolerance of other religions.
