Easter: Senator Omoworare Canvasses for Selfless, Humanitarian Service
The Chairman Senate Committee on Rules and Business and the Senator Representing Osun East Senatorial District Babajide Omoworare has urged Nigerians to engage themselves more in selfless and humanitarian services to help one another and develop Nigeria.
Omoworare in an Easter message signed by his Media Assistant, Comrade Tunde Dairo, on Saturday, also charged Nigerians to emulate the spirit of love, sacrifice and faith of Jesus Christ to make Nigeria great.
The Senator urged Nigerians to retain their faith in God and dedicate themselves to godliness, just as he enjoined them to always pray for the country and work for her development.
He said: “At this special time of our Nation, we must give our best support and prayer to the constituted authority as represented by the President Muhamadu Buhari led APC Federal Government to attain the Nigeria of our collective dream”.
Omoworare also charged leaders across government starters in the country to respect their social contract with the people, fulfill electoral promises and lead with the fear of God.
The Senator added “As political leaders, we also have a duty to the Republic and the electorates which is ultimately a responsibility to God.
“To maximize the blessings of this Easter, we must collectively draw lessons from the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ who is the reason for this glorious season, if this is done with sincerity of purpose, Nigeria and Humanity as a whole will be greatly blessed.”
Maintaining that the present challenges facing Nigeria was for a purpose, Omoworare stated that Nigerians must learn to project into the future and prevent any possible devastation that can result from economic downturn as being experienced now.
“Collectively, as a Nation, we can overcome the challenges of unemployment, insecurity, poverty and other indices antithetical to optimum human living.
“Corruption, violence and other vices must become a thing of the past, we must institute constitutional framework that will make fraudulent practices almost impossible without a penalty, when this is done we will have enormous wealth to maximize our human development indices,” the Senator said.
