Suspected Fulani herdsmen have attacked and killed a Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor in Kaduna state.

The recent killing comes some weeks after a similar attack was carried out in Abuja which resulted in the death of a RCCG pastor’s wife who was also an evangelist.

The late Pastor, Luka Ubangari, was reported to have been shot by the armed herdsmen at Shawa village, near Godogodo, in Jema’a Local Government Area of the state.

Ubangari who was on his way back from an evangelical visit to Golkofa village met with his death a few days after the Kaduna State Governor publicly condemned the incessant attacks and subsequent killings by herdsmen in the state.

A source who spoke to news agency, Punch, said the herdsmen “who are out to remove us from our ancestral lands, continue to kill our people.”

“We were happy that the Governor (Nasir El-Rufai) had visited and assured us of improved security and that the killers would be found and punished.

“To our shock, Pastor Luka Ubangari was ambushed, shot and killed as he was riding his motorcycle after an evangelical visit to Golkofa.”
