The embattled Chairman of the opposition All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Ondo State, Isaacs Kekemeke was on Saturday sacked from his position by the members of the State Executive Committee (SEC).

Mr. Kekemeke was sacked during an emergency meeting where members of the State Executive Committee gathered to rectify and tender their signature for his total removal from the position.

It was learned that a two thirds majority of the SEC members passed a ‘Vote of No Confidence’ for the removal of Mr. Kekemeke at the meeting held in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The SEC members have subsequently appointed the State Deputy Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, as the acting Chairman to oversee the affairs of the party before a final resolution.

Our correspondent exclusively obtained a document showing the signature of the aggrieved members in the SEC that unanimously voted for the removal of Mr. Kekemeke from office.

It was observed in the document that these members have also set up a 3-man Disciplinary Committee headed by State party member Mr. Solagbade Amodeni.

In the document, the members alleged that Mr. Kekemeke actively worked against the interest of the party by doctoring the delegates list to favor his preferred candidate ahead of the primary.

Mr. Kekemeke has been tipping Bode Ayorinde, one of the leading aspirants of the party, as candidate ahead of the primary election of the party.

The primary election has been fixed for Saturday 27th August 2016 by the national leaders of the party.

Since on Monday, a crisis has been rocking the Ondo APC over the imposition of candidates on the party members and doctoring of the delegates list.

The situation had forced some aggrieved members of the party to lock up the APC secretariat on No 17 Oyemekun road in Akure which was later hijacked by hoodlums, brandishing weapons, sponsored by Mr. Kekemeke.

The party factionalism eventually culminated in thugs hired by Mr. Kekemeke shooting guns and creating a significant disturbance at the APC secretariat.

Mr. Kekemeke could not be reached immediately but aides close to him disclosed to our correspondent that the embattled chairman is currently in Abuja to meet with party’s national leaders.

Our correspondent however contacted the State publicity secretary of the party, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya who also confirmed the removal of Kekemeke.
