NCS Advises Public on Internet Fraudsters

The Oyo/Osun Command of Nigeria Customs Service has advised members of the public to be wary of cabals using the names of individuals to defraud unsuspecting members of the public in public auction of vehicles and food items.
Mr.Temitope B.M.Ogunkua,the NCS Area Controller gave the advice in Ibadan on Tuesday while fielding questions from newsmen after reviewing the activities of his command which generated Eleven Billion,One hundred and Forty Seven thousand Million,Two Hundred and Thirty Eight,Four Hundred and Thirty-Eight Naira Three Kobo within January and September this year.
Ogunkua said that NCS would not do any public auction of vehicles and other items through face book,whatsapps or any social media but through newspaper or radio advertisement.
“How can you expect NCS to instruct buyers to pay into private individual accounts at this age.They are fraudsters.Please ignore them”he advised.
He commended the management of NCS for boosting the morale of officers and members disclosing that the good welfare to his men was responsible for their better performance
Ogunkua assured”we wish to reiterate the resolve of NCS under the present Comptroller General of customs to deal decisively with any act that will impede the success of the ongoing Federal Government drive towards revenue generation”
He disclosed that 18 smuggled vehicles were seized from smugglers and 10,000 bags of rice impounded adding that the suspected smugglers would be charged to court after investigation.
The Customs Area Controller reiterated that ban on rice importation through the land border was still in force but stressed that rice could come in through the sea
