Panic as Cultists Smash Colleague’s Brain with Stone in Osun

Residents of Tinumola Estate in Osogbo, Osun State Capital were on Sunday thrown into panic when members of cult group engaged in a terrible fracas which later resulted to the death of a man suspected to be their member.

CityMirrorNews gathered that the suspected cult members killed the victim simply identified as Wale by smashing his head with a big stone.

The two suspected cultists, one of whom was said to be a recent jail-returnee had tricked the victim to the back of Winners’ Primary and Secondary School located at Tinumola Estate where they smashed a big stone on his head.

It was gathered that the victim’s brain shattered immediately as the cultists fled the scene.

The ugly incident occurred around 6:00pm and the victim died instantly on the spot.

Residents of the area had fled when the corpse of the victim was discovered at a desolated area.

Police operatives from Dada Estate Police Division were said to have arrived the scene and took the remains of the victim to a mortuary in Osogbo.

A police source who did not want his name in print told our correspondent that a phone found in the pocket of the victim had rang few minutes after he was murdered.

The source said the victim’s father had called to know his whereabouts and asked him to return home.

The source also informed our correspondent that a suspect was arrested on Monday.

Confirming the incident, the Osun State Police Public Relation Officer, Mrs Falosade Odoro, said police men on patrol received call that some people were fighting at Tinumola Estate and moved to the scene immediately.

She explained that “when policemen got to the scene, they saw a young man whose age and name was unknown lying down dead in the pool of his own blood.

Odoro added that one suspect has been arrested in connection with the crime while body of the deceased has been deposited at LAUTECH  mortuary”.

She added that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kola Sodipo has ordered a dull scale investigation into the matter.
