Osun Government Signs M.O.U on Electronic Change of Vehicle Ownership
In its massive drive to generate and improve the Internally Generated Revenue of the state, the Government of the state of Osun has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Orange Apple Technology on electronic proof of Vehicles and change of Ownership.
Signing the three year contract on behalf of the Government, the Executive Secretary, Office of Transportation, Engr. Oluwagbemiga Anifowose said that, the E-Change of Ownership Certificate on Vehicles and Motorcycles which has not been practised in any part of the country is a good news and innovation for the state.
Engr. Anifowose revealed that, when the programme fully kick-starts in the state, all revenue hitherto lost will be greatly reduced and the government will generate minimum of #2billion annually.
He used the medium to appreciate the Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for his ingenuity to resuscitate the state from the economic melt-down which was brought about as a result of the dwindling revenue from crude oil in the world market.
The Executive Secretary, therefore, enjoined the people of the state to cooperate with the government on this innovation that will increase the state revenue base.
Responding on behalf of the team, the Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Mr. Osato Izegbuwa, posited that, there are certain challenges pertaining to the process of the issuance of documentation, proof of ownership and the change of vehicle ownership noting that, a lasting solution will be provided while increasing the IGR of the state at the same time.
Mr. Izegbuwa, then thanked the present administration in the state for creating the enabling environment, promising to be part of moving train of the state by ensuring that, the target of the state is met.
