The Ooni of ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on Saturday displayed utmost humility as he suddenly ordered his convoy to stop after being informed that one of the journalists that followed him to an event was missing.

The cameraman, Kunle Bowade, who is an employee of a media consulting firm (Vid-vision Media) was said to have missed the convoy due to carelessness on his part.

However, despite the fact that, Oba Ogunwusi’s convoy had left the venue of the event, he ordered the stoppage of the convoy at Okefia area of the town, few kilometres where the event took place.

Though the monarch’s entourage pleaded with the traditional ruler to proceed with the trip, saying the missing journalist would join them later at Ile-ife, but the monarch rebuffed the plea and sent some people to go after the missing journalist.

He insisted that, they came together and they must go back to Ife together adding that, there was no way he could have left anybody behind.

However the stoppage of the convoy disrupted the free flowing of vehicles in the area before the journalist and those that went to search for him returned to the spot about 25 minutes later.

Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Larooye and a host of others were said to have been Ooni’s entourage.

Speaking with newsmen on the development, Dayo Fasola David, Director of Vid-vision Media, commended the fatherly concern of the monarch and charged all other well to do people in the society to be humane in their ways of lives.

According to her, “even after explaining to Ooni that the young man could easily find his way to Ile- Ife, he (Oba Ogunwusi) insisted that he would wait till the missing journalist arrived the spot where the convoy stopped.

“To crown it all, the royal father also sent some people to search for him before leaving the spot where the convoy stopped for Ile-ife despite the fact that we told him that we put repeated calls to the missing journalist’s phone instructing him to pick a motorcycle”, he added.
