Breaking: 20 Feared Killed in Taraba Ethnic Clash
Pandemonium broke out at the Sabon Gidan village of Dan Anacha town in Taraba state on Saturday and Sunday as Tivs and Fulanis clashed and killed one another.
No fewer than 24 people were reportedly killed in the clash that started on Saturday.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the killing of two Fulanis whose corpses were found in the bush on Saturday triggered the clash.
The Fulanis kingpins reportedly carried out reprisal attacks on the Tivs who were suspected of killing their kinsmen.
Police Public Relations Officer, Taraba Police Command, Mr David Misal confirmed the clash, saying that the police was yet to ascertain the number of casualties.
A source disclosed to CityMirrorNews that he counted about 20 corpses who were believed to have been killed early hours of Sunday, saying “many people including women and children are nowhere to be found.”
