REMDEL’s Death, a colossal loss in Film, Music Industry-Dr Ajibola Basiru

Former Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties in Osun state, Dr Ajibola Basiru has described the death of Managing Director of REMDEL Optimum Communications Ltd, Pastor (Mrs.) ‘Biodun Ibitola as a monumental loss to him and the entire family of the
deceased.

Pastor Ibitola died yesterday Sunday 15th May, 2016 at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.

In a statement signed and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, Dr Ajibola said her demise coming at this time was most unfortunate as the family and the industry she nurtured still has so much to gain from her wealth of experience, saying the decease commendable courage, wisdom and fortitude would continue to inspire for many years to come.

“She was a seasoned broadcaster, music and film producer. One time Press Secretary to the wife of former Governor of Ekiti State, Erelu Angela Adebayo, from 1999 – 2003.”

“Under her leadership, Remdel Optimum Communications promoted musical and video works of artistes such as Evangelist Bisi Alawiye, Evangelist ‘Dunni Olanrewaju (Opelope Anointing), Evangelist ‘Tope Alabi, Evangelist Daniel Aregbesola. She also led REMDEL into film production with successful titles as “Afonja”, “Owo-Eje”, “Ofinga”, among others.

“Pastor Ibitola was, until her death, the Managing Director of Remdel TV broadcasting on Channel 171 on Startimes. She was also a Pastor with Covenant of Peace Family Fellowship.

She is survived by her aged mother, husband and two children.

He prays that God Almighty will receive the late Pastor Ibitola’s soul and grant her peaceful repose; and grant the family wisdom and courage require to build on the laudable legacies she left behind.
