Valentine Day:NGO Calls for Complete Love.
As people celebrates this year annual love day known as “Valentine”, a Non Governmental Organizations, NGO, Viceroys International, has said that people should not regard the day as merry making alone but to show love to the people around them in all ramifications.
The immediate past National Coordinator of the organization, Engr. Kamarudeen Adebayo Babalola made this known while speaking on the importance of celebrating the day with Newsmen in Osogbo.
Engr. Babalola said it is a pity that today some people have abused the celebration of Valentine Day, adding that spiritually, the day suppose to be demonstration of love to the other according to the Holy Book.
Engr. Babalola said further that, “Celebrating love day is to demonstrate love for all and sundry, including your immediate family, neighbours, friends, even your enemies what you love for yourself and dislike what I dislike for the sake of the Creator and not for winning and dinning alone”.
“Although, Valentine Day celebration began as a pagan ritual started by Romans in the fourth century BCE to honour the god Lupercus for the distribution of young women to young men mainly for entertainment and pleasure, but that was then in their own Country, but in Islamic way, everyday is a love day, demonstration of love all the times to everybody is a must to every Muslim brothers and sisters and not as they are doing now on February 14 of each year”, the Islamic Scholar added.
Engr. Babalola who enjoined youths to desist from any act capable of turning to crisis advised them to celebrate this year Valentine by contributing to the betterment of the people around them saying this is more acceptable before the Almighty Allah than merriment.
Engr. Babalola however described their NGO as Ambassador of Almighty God on earth with the aim of liberating less privileged people including, the aged, destitute, widows, among others.
