My Husband is a Drunkard, I Can’t Cope with Him Again, Wife Tells Court

A business woman, Mrs Kadijat Olawale has prayed a Customary court in Osogbo to dissolve her eight years old marriage, complaining that her husband, Mr Sikiru Olawale is a drunkard.
Mrs Olawale told the court that her husband, who is a photographer, always beat her whenever he’s drunk.
The divorce seeker wife stated that her husband does not love her again, adding that he was not also concerned about the welfare of the children.
The woman added that her husband had abandoned his responsibility in the house for a long time, saying that she bore the responsibility of feeding their children and paying their school fees.
She said: “My husband does not mind beating me and even my children to death whenever he is drunk. I pay the school fees of our children and feed the family. My husband even sent thugs to beat me because I filed this divorce in this court”.
The defendant did no show up in court and he was not represented by a lawyer.
The President of the customary court, Chief Popoola Bolarinwa dissolved the marriage with immediate effect as prayed by the wife.
