Kidnapping: Gunmen Kidnapped Woman, Grandchild, Demand Unaffordable Ransom
A 50-year old woman, Mrs. Peres Andalo Otieno, with her grandchild have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen at Nigeria-Cameroon border town, Pulka in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno state.
CityMirrorNews learnt that the ugly incident occurred at the Mandara mountains that separates Nigeria from Cameroon.
One of the relative of the victims, Paul Otieno, made this known to journalists on Wednesday in Osogbo.
Otieno, who resides in Osogbo, Osun state capital explained that the victim’s came to the Mandara mountains for tourism before being forcefully taken away by the unknown gunmen.
He revealed that the kidnappers had put a call through one of the family members requesting for a huge ransom before the woman and her grandchild could be released.
According to him, the head of the family said that the target of the unknown gunmen was the daughter of the woman Linda Otieno, who is currently based in Sweden.
He disclosed that the kidnappers threatened to kill the woman and grandchild if the family failed to pay the ransom demanded for their release.
Otieno further explained that the kidnappers also requested that the Sweden based daughter of the woman should come to rescue her mum if she doesn’t want her dead.
The family of Analdo Otieno, therefore appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to come to their rescue, saying the family do not have such huge amount of money demanded by the kidnappers.
As at the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the abducted victims were not ascertained.
