Group trains 200 ‘young’ Tailors in modern Tailoring Techniques in Osun

No fewer than 200 young tailors were on Friday trained by the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors in modern tailoring techniques to meet the present economic realities of adulthood and to achieved cognite competence.
Mr Bayo Fagbeasa, the State Coordinator of the group who spoke to
newsmen at the training workshop at Omoluabi Garment Factory, said the
training would exposed the beneficiaries to modern sewing techniques and
machine usages.
Fagbesa said young tailors needed to inculcate life skills in modern
sewing techniques to attained success in life.
He said, young tailors needed to take responsibility of learning
through research, information technology with critical observation to
attained success.
He called for the support of the state government and the Ministry of
Commerce, Industry and Cooperative to help Tailors in the state
acquired more modern ways of sewing through seminars and workshops.
Mrs Abimbola Bunmi, the supervisor, Omoluabi Garment Factory who took
the trainees through the sewing sections admonished them to embraced
any opportunities that comes their way especially in the Tailoring
Industry.
Bunmi urged the young tailors not to be discouraged with the present
economic realities but rather be a partaker in making the state great.
Earlier, some machines to includes Colar Making Machines, Boating
how’s machines, Straight hoes machines among others were introduced to
the young tailors and the way they worked.
Meanwhile, the 200 trainees were drawn from 11 zones across the
state to include; Owode zone, Gbeja zone, Oke onitea zone, Ring road
zone, Ayetoro zone.
Others include, Igbona zones, Ile dance zone, among others.
