Ospoly Student Cries Out Over Threat to Life
An ND11 Mass Communication student of Osun State Polytechnic, Ospoly Iree, Lawal Sodiq has alleged threat to his life by some hoodlums in the institution.
The suspected miscreants according to Sodiq, has threatened to eliminate him for reporting alleged financial misconduct and abuse of office being slammed on some executives of the institution Students’ Union.
The student journalist said his life has been in serious danger since the leadership of the Students Representative Council (S.R.C) suspended the elected officers.
It would be recalled that the institution’s SRC had earlier impeached and suspended some of the elected officers of the Students Union Government for allegedly mismanaging the Union’s treasury.
The President of the Students’ Union, Muhammad Surajudeen was unanimously suspended by SRC alongside with the Financial Secretary, Adewale Quadri and the Auditor, Olabode Olaosun.
SRC which is the legislative arm of the Students’ Union also impeached the Vice President, Ganiyu Oseni and the Treasurer, Musa Jamiu.
However, Sodiq who called on the management of the institution, security agencies and other members of the public to swift into his rescue from being maimed, alarmed that the suspected miscreants had vowed to assassinate him this week.
Narrating his ordeal, Sodiq said, “I was in my room yesterday night when I received a strange call from unknown caller with an M.T.N number 09039791528 telling me to be prepared to die this week.
“I thought it was a mere threat not until it was emphatically emphasized by the hoodlum.
“When I asked the identity of the caller, he swiftly declined comment asking me to consult google.
“He said, “you bastard. Did you think you can write against us with your scandalous write-up?”.
“All your bosses know me and they are even afraid of me. You are crazy for indicting me as one who stole the SRC’s Mace.
“I read your writeup and I can assure you “you are gone”. I will deal with you mercilessly. I will make sure you regret this action. As a matter of fact, consider yourself dead this week.
Sodiq therefore appealed to well meaning Nigerians to save him from being killed
