VP Osinbajo Addresses Empty Hall at Redeemers’ University Convocation

Apparently felt bored by continuous speeches and eager for celebrating the joy of graduation, graduating students of Redeemer’s University on Thursday September 8, 2016, trooped out of the hall, leaving the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to address an empty hall.

The convocation ceremony of the 2015/2016 session was held in the University Auditorium, where 619 students graduated and 25 students bagged first class honours degree.

Feeling embarrassed by the near empty hall, the newly installed Chancellor of the university, General Thophilous Yakubu Danjuma, (rtd ) directed the Vice Chancellor, Professor Debo Adeyewa to ensure that the Vice President’s speech be circulated to the graduands.

In his speech, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo described the institution as a purposeful university. He therefore called on the graduands to be good ambassadors of the university.

Pledging his support for the university, the newly installed Chancellor of the university, General T. Y Danjuma (rtd) called on all and sundry to strive hard in their support for the university in making it an outstanding citadel of learning.

Earlier in his speech, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Debo Adeyewa enumerated the various achievements of the university in the field of learning, research and community service.

He assured that no stone would be spared in making the university a world class one.
