Osun Lawmaker Donates E-Library to Boost Education

In a bid to compliment the effort of the Osun State government on education, a member of Osun State House of Assembly representing Ila state constituency, Hon. Clement Akanni has commenced the construction of anElectronic-Library in Ila-Orangun.

The e-library which would gulp a sum of N15m is expected to complete in December 2016.

Akanni who made this known at the foundation laying ceremony to commemorate his one year in office last Saturday, said the e-library; when completed, will aid the educational advancement of the students in his constituency.

While enumerating some of his achievements within the one year in office, Akanni hinted that he has facilitated the Oke-Ola-Aloyin roads as well as inclusion of Agbamu-Arandun roads in the budget of Federal government.

The lawmaker had also sponsored no fewer than 200 youths in different vocational skills, with the belief that the training will go a long way in reducing poverty among the beneficiaries.

He maintained that the step became imperative so as to serve as source of wealth creation for the youth of the ancient Ila community.

The legislature assured the people of his constituency of quality representation and more dividends of democracy.

In his remarks, the state Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola lauded the lawmaker for his gesture saying he has demonstrated commitment to the welfare of the people of his constituency.

Aregbesola who was represented by the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Elder Peter Babalola, said the present administration in the state would continue to design programs that have direct impact on the lives of the people of the state.

Also speaking, the Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Oyedotun described the lawmaker as a good ambassador of the community, submitting that Akanni has exhibited the character of a virtuous person.
