Senator Iyiola Omisore and the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Honourable Soji Adagunodo have renewed their political enmity that factionalised the PDP in the state.

This time, the two PDP chieftains are bickering on the travail of the PDP in Ondo State, which might cost the party victory in the November 26, 2016 governorship election in the state.

Omisore in a Short Message Service (SMS) sent to Adagunodo on Thursday, November 3, 2016 accused him of sabotaging PDP victory chances in the forthcoming election by joining a suit filed by Mr Jimoh Ibrahim against the emergence of Mr Eyitayo Jegede as the PDP flag bearer.

The senator stated bitterly that Adagunodo was culpable in the emergence of Ibrahim as the PDP governorship candidate through a court verdict that mandated the Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC) to recognize him instead of Jegede, the initial PDP candidate.

Jegede won the governorship primary of the Ahmed Makarfi led faction of the PDP which was conducted in Akure, while Ibrahim won the primary of the Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff led faction which was conducted in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The unedited text message which was exclusively obtained by CityMirrorNews reads: “Soji, how far with your roles in Ondo state as plaintiffs? How do you feel sabotaging PDP victory chances in Ondo? Can you now appreciate why sincere party faithful/honest loyals can’t support your bid! If you can do this in Ondo, you’ll outrightly sell to Osun to the highest bidder? Posterity is beckoning Day of reckoning is starring! Senator Iyiola Omisore,Ph.D,FNSE,CON.”

Replying the text message, Adagunodo denied being part of the suit filed by Ibrahim, saying that he lacks the locus standi to be a plaintiff in the suit.

He described Omisore’s message as uncalled for and disappointing.

Adagunodo claimed that though his name might appear in the suit but has nothing to with him as an interested party.

The PDP Osun chairman’s message reads: “Otunba Iyiola Omisore, good morning. I saw ur message after it has run viral on social media even on platform that I don’t belong and has been sent out to so many people to score or gain political points. I know ur r very educated and versed in all legal issues and I know u know that my name appearing on the Ondo State dispute has nothing to do with me as an interested party , I don’t even ve locus standi . There was a judgement that has to do with validation of our congresses and Ondo state also was in the suit. If Ondo state decided to use the judgement in their own state how does that concern me. Otunba u know I’m a Man of integrity , a discipline personality and since I ve joined politics I ve never collected money from anybody instead I spent my hard earned money for the Party I belonged not when we started PDP in 1998 alone even in other Party that I participated in before PDP started. Also as much as u ve also spent ur money on all political parties u belong and to some individuals I’m not one them that has collected money from u for anything or from anybody politically instead I spent so much on the pursuit of what I believed in including ur ambition. For u to want to paint me in bad light is uncalled for and disappointing. I know u very well and ur intentions to send this message out and let me assure u it has failed.”

It would be recalled that the Adagunodo’s PDP faction in Osun state held the ward, local and state congresses in the state while the Omisore’s faction led by Dr Bayo Faforiji boycotted the exercise.
