Mass Comm Alumni , Ospoly, Set to Establish Broadcasting Station…Sue for Unity among Graduates

Old students of Mass Communication Department, Osun state Polytechnic, Iree, on Monday unveiled plans to establish a radio station within the Mass Communication Department complex in the institution.
The Association made the disclosure through a statement made available to CityMirrorNews by its National Publicity Secretary, Adesegun Salako while creating awareness on the series of activities lined up for this year’s Annual General Meeting.
According to the statement, “the occasion will be used to raise funds to establish a radio broadcasting station which will be named (RADIO OSPOLY) as well as sacrosanct developmental projects in the department.
The statement added; “the 2016 AGM is purposely centred on the need to turnaround the fortunes of Mass Communication Department of OSPOLY by making it compete favourably with its counterparts in the world.
“To realize these objectives, the association has taken steps to generate funds which will be used to procure ultra-modern digital radio broadcasting facilities for the department as part of efforts to improve professional standards.
“This gesture is aimed to support and improve on the knowledge base of all the students studying mass communication and other aspects of journalism in the institution.
“Apart from this, efforts are in top gear to facilitate other developmental projects not only in the department but in the entire institution.
The meeting which has been slated for December 17th of this year would be held at the NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo state.
Salako added, “the topic to be discussed for this year meeting, “Economic Recession and The Challenges of Objective Reportage” is expected to be delivered by the Publisher of PM Parrot Newspaper and Parrot Xtra Magazine, Mr Yinka Agboola.
“The objective of the meeting is to sustain the existing unity among members of the association and as well reunite for prosperity, development and transformation by reaching out to members who have lost touch with each other for years since graduation.
