Kwara Commissioner to Appear before Legislators over Road Project
The Kwara State House of Assembly has invited the state Commissioner for Works and Transport Alhaji Aro Yahaya to appear at the floor of the House on Tuesday to brief the 24 member legislator on the current status of Asa dam- Egbejila- Airport road project.
This followed a Matter of Urgent Public Importance raised by a member representing Ilorin Central Constituency Hon. Segilola Abdulkadir on the present deplorable condition of the road.
The Speaker,Dr. Ali Ahmad while speaking on the matter, said the road project which had claimed lives was strategic as the road according to him would serve as alternative route when work commences at the Diamond Split Bridge Project at the Geri-Alimi roundabout and assured that the house will do all it could to ensure that the road project was completed.
Meanwhile the House has deferred debate and confirmation on the establishment of Kwara State Infrastructure Fund (IF-K) under under the Public Private Partnership Structure.
Members had while speaking on the Governor’s message resolved to consult their various constituencies and ensure that the new strategy was in conformity with the laws and aspirations of the state.
The House equally observed a minute silence in honour of a staff of the Information Department of the State House of Assembly Mr.Raphael Olumaiyeguna who passed on two weeks ago after a brief illness.
