Ooni to Engage 3,000 Youths, Dedicates New Year for Youth Development

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has said that he would engage not fewer than 3000 youths in the ongoing project site in Ile-Ife.Oba Ogunwusi disclosed this in his New Year message, where he declared the 2016 as a year of youth development.

He said: “No fewer than 3,000 youths would be engaged at ongoing project site of Ife Grand Resort, spanning over 1000 hectares of land to provide job opportunities for the people.” The frontline traditional ruler in press statement issued and signed by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Mr Moses Olafare said that he dedicated  the new year 2016 to turn around the fortune of the youth by unfolding a new vista of hope in terms of gainful employment.  Oba Ogunwusi felicitated with the people of Ile-Ife, Osun state and Nigeria in general for the New Year 2016.According to him, his focus and target were beyond the shores of Ile-Ife as critical arrangements have reached advanced stage to take the unemployed youths off the streets, with a view to check mating the growing crime rate in our society. He averred that 40 squares miles of land had been acquired at Ife reserve to drive massive agricultural revolution which would pave way for cocoa, oil palm and rubber plantation, adding that the scheme would also create job opportunities for nothing less than 20,000 people.   The statement reads: “The Imperial majesty has also set up a working committee on the “Youth Sport Drive and Talents Hunt” which is been spearheaded by a renown FIFA instructor and former Super Eagle coach Chief Adegboye Onigbinde and NFA stalwart Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi to come out with a template of bringing back the old glory of sport competition, tagged   “ Oduduwa Cup” this will take place across the Yoruba Nation.” The traditional ruler enjoined the youths to keep the hope alive and be law abiding and key into the Change agenda of the government. He prayed that may the  grace of God continue to shower on the people of Ile-Ife, Yoruba and entire Nigeria throughout New Year of prosperity and peace.
