Aregbesola Advocates Patience on the Nation’s Economy

The Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has called on Nigerians to exercise patience with the present government in its bid to reposition the country.

Aregbesola also implored the citizens to remain united and hopeful just as the current government was determined to turn around the nation’s economy for the betterment of all.

Governor Aregbesola advocated this while addressing a gathering during the 2016 Maolud Nabiyyi Ceremony, organized by the members of Zumuratul Ujjaj and Ujjaja of Nigeria, Ikirun Branch.

Aregbesola who referred the current economic situation to global menace said patience, perseverance and prayers are the major panacea to rescue the nation.

The Governor who lamented over the palpable corruption in the country said, the current government would do everything humanly possible to curb the scourge in its stance to build a new Nigeria.

Aregbesola attributed some of the challenges facing the nation to misgovernance of the past administrations, saying if the nation’s treasury was judiciously managed, the country would have been a better place.

Aregbesola who described mismanagement characterized with the immediate past administration as a contributory factor to the current economic crisis, said the country’s treasury had been badly drained.

The Governor however expressed confidence in the ability of the current government to move the nation forward, reiterating that the present administration would not relent to bring smile to the faces of the citizenry.

“It is unfortunate that the past administrations led us to this mess because hadn’t been our resources were judiciously managed by the successive governments, Nigeria would have become a better place to be.

“Our economy had been badly managed by the immediate past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan who claimed to have been loosing 400, 000 barrels of crude oil daily in the last 24 months of his administration.

“Obviously, this political recklessness and administrative ineptitude had contributed to the current economic situation in the country, and as a matter of fact, we are the victims of his administration’s palpable corruption.

“But in spite of this, the current administration would do all it could to continuously bring succour to the good people of this country in all aspects of human’s life.

” It is our beliefs that the only panacea to fast track quick actualization of these goals was for all of us to exercise patience with government at all levels as change revolution is coming to stay.

“Our focus is to ensure adequate standard of living of our people and as well create an enabling environment that would facilitate quick economic growth and development”, Aregbesola emphasized.

Governor Aregbesola therefore implored Nigerians to remain vehemently in prayers just as he called on them to support the present government for quick realization of set goals and objectives.

Earlier, the Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salam who doubled as the Chairman of the occasion, assured the citizens of continuous legislation that would entrench better performance and transformation in the state.

Hon. Salam promised that the House would consistently deploying necessary mechanism to facilitate all round development in the state.

Speaker further reaffirmed that the House would not be deterred in its oversight functions as legislative arm at evolving laws that would place the state above its counterparts in terms of socio-political and economic developments.

He therefore called on muslims to always abide with the commandments of Allah in whatever they do, saying the love of humanity is love of the creator.

In their separate remarks, the Akirun of Ikirun and the Chairman, Ikirun branch of    Zumuratul Ujjaj and Ujjaja of Nigeria, Alhaji Tijani Oladosu, commended the present government in the state for continuously promoting the general well being of the citizenry despite the current economic hardship in the nation.

The duo also applauded Governor Aregbesola for living up to the expectation especially on his giant strides in social infrastructures and economic repositioning.

In his lecture, the quest lecturer, Alhaji Kamil Muhammadu Jamiu, charged Nigerians to refrain from social vices capable of leading them astray from the course of Allah.

Alhaji Jamiu who identified lies as the major challenge in Nigeria, therefore called on the citizens to forbid lies while looking for means to survive.

The Muslim cleric said there is need for Nigerians to brace up together for general development of the nation’s economy, saying the time has come for the citizens to see governance as a duty of all.

The quest lecturer therefore implored Nigerians to jettison lies, back-biting and other forms of social vices so as to move the nation forward.
