Nollywood Actor Charles Olumo “Agbako” Passes Away
Nollywood thespian, Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, affectionately known by his legion of fans as Charles Olumo and Agbako, has sadly departed this world.
The news was confirmed by the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin.
In a poignant statement released to the public, Mr. Latin announced the passing of AGBAKO, with a heartfelt tribute.
He wrote: “TAMPAN globally announces the passing of Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, fondly known as AGBAKO. Details of the burial arrangements will be shared at a later time. Good night father, 25/02/1923 to 31/10/2024.”
In the wake of the report, numerous Nigerian celebrities have taken to various social media platforms to pay their heartfelt respects and bid a final farewell to the departed legend.
Jide Kosoko, an iconic figure within the Nigerian movie industry, stated: “Good night, dear Baba Charles, a.k.a Agbako. Your remarkable life span of 102 years was truly a testament to your resilience and vitality. May your noble soul rest in eternal peace.”
Omowumi Ajiboye, another prominent figure in the industry, echoed similar sentiments: “Rest in perfect peace, sir. Your illustrious legacy shall forever endure in our hearts. Farewell, dear legend.”
Adeniyi Johnson, in his characteristic eloquence, succinctly captured the mood of the nation: “Rest on, Baba wa. Your indelible impact on the world of entertainment shall never be forgotten.”
