Nigerians React As Instagram Deletes Efcc’s Official Account
The official page of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly been deleted following massive report of the account by internet fraudsters aka Yahoo boys.
A search of the page of the commission “@officailEFCC” by Dockaysworld, led to the stock message from Instagram that reads “user not found” indicating the page has been suspended or deleted by the social media app.
Though a number of reasons can lead to a suspension or deletion, instagram with parent company, Meta, usually only exercises those options when the rules of the app have been violated.
Amongst speculations include allegations that the prime enemies of the anti graft agency, Internet fraudsters commonly known as yahoo boys, conspired to report the page and get it suspended.
It is unclear whether the deletion is permanent or temporary.
Recall that the agency had reiterated its commitment to going after yahoo boys despite the massive protest in delta state which led to injuries and destruction of property.Dockaysworld,
