Osun Launches Teacher-shift 2025 To Transform Technical And Vocational Education
The Government of Osun State, under the visionary leadership of Ademola Adeleke, has officially launched the Osun Teacher-Shift 2025, a groundbreaking capacity-building program designed to reposition technical and vocational education for the future.
The program was flagged off with a welcome address by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education (TVE), Hon. (Arc.) Dapo Ademola-Adesina, who commended Governor Adeleke for his unwavering commitment to education.
He also appreciated the presence of distinguished invitees, including Special Advisers, Education Secretaries/Zonal Inspectors of Education, Directors from the Ministry of Education, officials from the Board of Technical and Vocational Education and IHS members.
He highlighted how the Teacher-Shift 2025 initiative was birthed out of his vision to reposition Osun’s TVE sector, stressing that technical and vocational education is not just about skills acquisition but a pathway to self-reliance, innovation and economic empowerment.
He further emphasized the importance of equipping teachers with modern teaching techniques and global best practices to drive a sustainable shift in the educational landscape of the state.
Speaking on behalf of IHS Towers, a key partner in the initiative, Mrs. Titilope Oguntuga, Director Sustainability IHS Nig. Ltd. expressed the organization’s readiness to collaborate with the Osun State Government and technical colleges.
She emphasized that education remains the most powerful infrastructure for national development, noting that “the world is changing, and so must our perspective. Vocational skills, once seen as second choice, are now essential survival skills. As teachers, we must shift our mindset from simply delivering content to shaping adaptable, confident, and future-ready individuals.”
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Jimoh, commended the efforts of Hon. (Arc.) Dapo Ademola-Adesina for bringing IHS Towers into Osun’s education development agenda and lauded IHS for their strong commitment and intervention in supporting technical and vocational education.
In his keynote speech, the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Hon. Adedipo Sunday Eluwole, emphasized the crucial role of vocational skills in nation-building. He encouraged teachers to embrace innovation in education and officially declared the Osun Teacher-Shift 2025 training session open on behalf of the State Governor.
The Osun Teacher-Shift 2025 initiative marks a significant step in the State Government’s drive to empower teachers in technical colleges with the tools, knowledge, and mindset required to prepare students for a dynamic and rapidly evolving world.
