UNIJOS Gets 18 New Professors
The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has promoted 18 academic staff to the rank of professor effective October 1, 2022.
In a statement, the Senior Deputy Registrar of Information and Publications, Abdullahi Abdullahi said the promotions were approved by the Appointment and Promotions Committee (Senior Staff), chaired by Vice-Chancellor Tanko Ishaya.
According to the school, the new professors excelled in mathematics, history, chemistry, gender studies, law, medicine, and education.
It said: Their expertise and dedication have earned them this prestigious recognition, contributing to the university’s academic excellence and research endeavours.
“Additionally, 24 academic staff have been appointed from Senior Lecturer to Reader (Associate Professor), further demonstrating the institution’s commitment to fostering aca – demic growth and development.”
