The Executive Governor of Osun State and Visitor to Osun State University, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, will be commissioning two completed projects in Osun State University on Thursday, 8th June, 2023.

This information was made known in a statement issued by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, on Monday, 5th May, 2023.

The release partly reads “The Executive Governor of Osun State and Visitor to Osun State University, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, will be commissioning a 2-Storey 57-office unit complex in the University’s College of Health Sciences, Isale Osun, and a 350-capacity Student Hostel at the University’s Main Campus, Osogbo, on Thursday, 8th May, 2023, by 11:00 a.m.”

The statement further revealed that within the first one week of Senator Adeleke’s assumption of leadership position in the State, he approved the Vice-Chancellor’s proposal for the completion of the office complex which had been abandoned since 2011, and provided full funding for the completion of the building.

In the same vein in 2022, the University, through its internally generated revenue, purchased an abandoned hostel building from the Staff Cooperative, Investment and Credit Society (CICS) of the University and proceeded to complete the construction of the hostel within record time.

Speaking on the forthcoming commissioning, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor ‘Ayo Clement Adebooye, echoed his appreciation to the Osun State Government for the intervention, saying it would help the College of Health Sciences keep its hard-earned accreditation of its MBBS and allied health programmes by the NUC, and also solve the problem of insufficient offices for the various academic units. The Vice-Chancellor also expressed satisfaction on the University’s growth from its non-residential status in 2006 when it was founded, to its current residential status, aimed at enhancing students’ life and wellbeing on their studies in the University.
