ICT Training Should Go With Formal Education- Ajimobi
Wife of Oyo state Governor, Dr Florence Ajimobi has urged education curriculum be designed to accommodate ICT in the learning structure of secondary schools.
Mrs Ajimobi who redeemed her pledge of donating Internet-enabled Personal Computers to the computer room of St. Annes School, Molete, Ibadan as the school marked her 149th founders day anniversary.
It can be recalled that the Wife of the Governor promised to donate the equipment during the inauguration of an e-library to the school by the 1970-1974 graduating set of the school.
She maintained that every child must have access to education and must also be introduced to ICT at an early stage because it is the future of education and the secret of great leaders.
The e-library, which is fully airconditioned, has 25 PCs all enabled with Internet facility and has educative softwares installed. The computers are also gateway to lots of e-textbooks to prepare students for all external examinations.
The computer room started off as a project by the 1970-1974 Old Girls’ Association of St. Annes School, but received support from the wife of the Governor to enable the room serve more students.
The set President, Mrs Bukunola Orekoya appreciated the governor’s wife for supporting their project, and promised to make sure that school puts it to good use in educating the children
