Redeemer’s University Graduates 422 Students, 27 Bag First Class

Professor Debo Adeyewa, the Vice Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun state, on Monday announced that 422 students of the citadel would be graduating in its 10th convocation ceremony slated for September 13.
Adeyewa who stated this at a pre-convocation news conference in Ede, further disclosed 27 graduands out of the said figure bagged first class honours.
He added that 160 students made second class upper, while 178 students were graduated with second class lower division
According to him, 57 fall into third class and pass categories. He explained that those who would be graduating also include Diplomas, MA, MSc, MBA and PhDs, after satisfactory academic performance.
The VC also disclosed the institution’s Readiness to confer on Timi of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, the honorary award of prestigious degree of Doctor of Management Science D.Mgt, Honoris Causal).
He said the award was in recognition of the monarch’s significant contribution to the development of Edeland, adding that Oba Lawal has distinguished himself.
“At this tenth convocation, we have altogether, 422 graduands . 27 of them made Fisrst Class honours (6.4%), 160 are in the Second Class Upper Division (37.9%).
“While 178 are graduating with Second Class Lower Division (42.2%). 57 others (13.5%) fall into Third Class and Pass categories.
Adeyewa emphasised the previous achievements of the institution, such as outstanding research work, adding that the positive result of these achievements had contributed to human development in many ways.
He said the federal government , through the Ministry of Health , and the World Health Organization continuously called on the institutions ACEGID for the diagnosis and containment of Monkey Pox.
Adeyewa further stated that the ACEGID was in the forefront of efforts to contain the outbreak of Monkey Pox in 2017.
“We trained over 600 students and other experts from across the world including Bangaladash , Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and USA.”
“Dr. E.I Unuabonah won the award of Cambridge-Africa ALBORARDA Research Fund for reagents of laboratoryin. equipment worth US$20,000; won the 2017 Nigeria Academy of Science (NAS) Gold Medal Prize for Nigeria Scientists “, he said.
He however announced that , Redeemer’s University Radio would be commissioned very soon, promising would be the best radio state in the country.
He added that the radio would be managed by the Mass Communication Department of the institution, saying the frequency of the FM radio is 103.5
Adeyewa reiterated the resolve of the Ivory Tower to deepen its research endeavours and ensure that their students would be globally competitive.
