Man Remanded Over Attempted Murder Of Motorcyclist In Osun

A 25-year-old man, Adetunji Adeolu, has been ordered to be remanded at the Ilesha correctional centre, for allegedly attempted to kill one Olatunji Ebenzer.
According to the Police Prosecutor, Inspector Adejola Adesuyi, the defendant allegedly committed the offence on December 28th, 2025, at Adeleke Estate, Osogbo.
The prosecutor told the court that
the defendant attempted to kill Ebenezer, a motorcyclist by hitting his head with ion rod with the intention to rob him of his motorcycle.
He further explained that the victim became unconscious due to the injuries he sustained in his head.
The offence, according to the Prosecutor, is contrary to and punishable under section 320 and 355 of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol.II Law of Osun State 2002.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge levelled against him.
Defence Counsel, Barr. Najite Okobe, applied for the bail of the accused in the most liberal term.
Okobe who urged the court to tamper justice with mercy said, the suspect is ready to pay for the victim hospital bills and other damages.
However, the prosecutor opposed the bail application on the ground that, if granted bail, he would continue to terrorise the community.
In her ruling, Magistrate Olatunji M.A, denied the bail application and ordered that the defendant be remanded at the ilesha correctional centre.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case till
till February 9, 2026 for mention
