By Oluwaferanmi Bello, Osogbo
An Osogbo Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of Abiodun Olusola, a 64-year-old man, and three others in connection with the alleged theft of a Toyota Camry car, a Redmi phone, and ₦15,000.
The incident reportedly took place on February 15, 2025, at Aurora Event Centre, Osogbo.
Olusola is accused of stealing the car (valued at ₦5 million), the phone (₦220,000), and the cash from one Adefisoye Oladele. His alleged accomplices—Yahaya Saheed, Suraju Abdullahi, and Ibrahim Yusuf were charged for knowingly purchasing the stolen phone at a suspiciously low price.
The prosecutor, Elisha Olusegun, said the offences contravene Sections 516, 390(9), and 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
The defendants pleaded not guilty, and their counsel, Barr. T. B. Ayodele, applied for bail.
Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara denied the oral bail request and directed the filing of a formal application.
He ordered the remand of the accused at the Ilesa Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to December 8, 2025, for hearing
