19-year-old Man Remanded Over Alleged Murder In Ibadan
Oyo State Police Command on Monday arraigned a 19-year-old boy identified as Ibrahim Abiala for allegedly stabbing one Musa Mohammadu to death.
The incident occurred at Aleshinloye market in Ibadan, the state capital.
Abiala was arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan.
The police Prosecutor, Insp Olagoke Adegbenro told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 26, at 8.30 p.m., at Aleshinloye market area of Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendant unlawfully caused the death of one Musa Mohammadu by stabbing him on his back.
Adegbenro said that the offence contravened Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction.
She directed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
However, she ordered Abiala, whose address was not provided, should be held in the Correctional Centre.
She thereafter, adjourned the case until April 24, for mention.
