Amotekun Arrests 30-year-old Woman With Fake Currency In Osun
The Osun State Security Network also known as Amotekun Corps, yesterday arrested a 30-year-old woman, Rebecca Ako for being in possession of fake currency in Osun.
Ako was arrested by operatives of Osun State Security Network with suspected fake currency at Sabo Market in Ilesa.
The Osun Amotekun Field Commander , Dr Omoyele Adekunle , made this known while parading currency counterfeiter alongside other suspected criminals at their command in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
According to Adekunle, the suspect was nabbed while using some N1000 notes to buy food stuffs from innocent people.
Other suspected criminals paraded for various offenses includes: Rodiat Abdulrasak, Lasisi Kazeem , Bababtunde Aderemi ,Olatiwon Quyum ,Olaniyan Afeez , Tajudeen Riliwan , Adegboye Glory , and Bidemi Adebayo.
The Osun Amotekun Field Commander said the corps operatives on intelligence had arrested Rebecca Ako with fake currency at Sabo market in Ilesa while using some N1000 notes to buy food stuffs from innocent people.
Adekunle further explained that the suspect who confessed to crime committed received the fake notes from one Mrs Elizabeth through despatched rider from Abuja.
He said that the suspect confessed to have been paying N50,000 for the sum of N200,000 fake notes received from her conspirator.
According to him ,the suspect use the fake currency to enrich herself before she was noticed and arrested by the Amotekun corps and investigation is ongoing .
The field commander further said some criminals arrested were apprehended for crimes which includes ; burglary and stealing ; murder ; motorcycle snatching ; theft of transformer cables ; and attempted kidnapping .
Adekunle , who said the suspects would be released to the police for further investigation and prosecution, urged the public to be vigilant of any happenings within their domain.
He called for the collective collaboration of other sisters security agencies to help secure lives and property in the state.
Speaking with some of the suspects during their parades , one Olatiwon Quyum ,19 , a suspected motorcycle snatcher , said he stole a bike belonging to one Ilesanmi Oladele where he parked it and took it to Ifo in Ogun state before the was trailed and arrested.
