Amotekun Arrests International Passports Fraudster In Osun

The operatives of Osun Amotekun have arrested a 51-year-old man, identified as Adegoroye Adefola Akinola for allegedly defrauding nine victims of 1.6million Naira under the pretence of securing them international passports.

The suspect who is an indigene of Igbara Odo, Ekiti State was arrested after a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Ayedaade Command in Gbongan area in osun state.
It was learnt that Amotekun operatives on receiving complaints swung into action and immediately tracked down the suspect after he absconded from Ibadan to Igbara Odo in Ekiti State
Sources said the suspect having perpetrated the evil act was constantly changing his mobile number which reportedly make it difficult know his whereabouts but through tracking analyses he was nabbed through his girlfriend at Gbongan area in osun state.
Confirming the arrest to newsmen in Osogbo,the Corps Commander of Osun state ,Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi said the suspect was arrested by the Amotekun following credible Intelligence .
He said Amotekun operatives apprehended the suspect at Gbongan after a complaint was lodged by his victims .
“Our men tracked the suspect after he absconded from Ibadan to his hometown in Igbara-Odo of Ekiti State using different phone numbers to avoid arrest.
“During the investigation and interrogation, we discovered that the suspect had changed his phone number, and relocated from Ibadan to Igbara-Odo in Ekiti State, where he was invited to Gbongan by his girlfriend for business where he was later arrested. He said.
“Further investigation also revealed that the suspect goes by different names such as Ayodeji Harry-young, and Samuel Ayodeji with multiple phone numbers and ATM cards bearing different names that he uses to perpetrate his heinous acts, he confessed to joining 419 gangs in 2003 in Ekiti State,” Adewinmbi said.”
Adewinmbi,however, said the suspect arrest underscores the commitment and dedication of the Osun Amotekun Corps to combating crimes in the state and ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties in the state.
The suspect according to Amotekun boss had since been handed over to Amotekun Oyo State Command for further Interrogation and prosecution.
