3 Suspected Ritualists Nabbed For Exhuming Corpses In Osun
The Osun State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps has arrested three suspected ritualists for allegedly exhuming corpses and removing their parts for rituals.
The suspects are Kamilu Kehinde, a 43-year-old mechanic, Akeem Hamzat, 56-year-old driver and Wakeel Baka, a herbalist
They were alleged to have specialised in moving around to where people buried and consequently exhume their bodies and took sensitive organs for possible ritual purposes and money making enterprise
According to a statement by the spokesperson of Amotekun in the state Adeniyi Adeshola Brown, said the three suspects were reportedly nabbed following credible intelligence
“They were all arrested following intelligence received by the our operatives at Iwo area of the state.
“On interrogation, the suspects made confessional statements that they were into the business of….exhuming corpses from graves; which they then sell to buyers who need them for money-making rituals among others
Amotekun Pro said One of the suspect simply identified as Akeem Hamzat was not actually one of them, but confessed that one Ogun, who is now at large was with an exhumed body part.”
He , however, disclosed that the Corps Commander, Osun State Security Network Agency, Bashir Abiodun Adewinmbi, has directed that the suspects should be transferred to the Nigeria Police for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.
“Residents of the state are encouraged to be more security conscious and always ensure that they report all suspicious activities to the Osun Amotekun.
