Police Probe Islamic Cleric’s Death In Osun
The Osun State police Command has lunched a manhunt for a friend of an Islamic Cleric, Kazeem Lasis whose lifeless body was found floating at Owala River in Osun State .
The Police Public Relations Officer SP Yemisi Opalola who confirmed the development said the corpse of a missing Islamic cleric based in Ifon-Orolu in Orolu Local Government of Osun State, Kazeem Lasisi, has been found floating on the Owala River.

According to police sources in Ifon town, the prime suspect and the deceased left for an undisclosed location on Friday and they were not seen again until Lasisi’s corpse was found floating on the river on Saturday.
A resident, who pleaded to remain under anonymity confirmed that he was present at the scene where the body was retrieved from the river.
He said, “Relations of Lasisi that reported the matter to the hunters and police said one of his friends came to pick him up at home on Friday, but he (Lasisi), didn’t return home since then and his family has been apprehensive .
“Everybody taught that maybe Lasisi was inside his room, praying, but when they opened the door to his room, he was nowhere to be found
“The matter was reported to the police and hunters that they saw Lasisi’s mobile phone and the luggage he wanted to travel with inside his room.
Sources said they called the mobile phone number of his friend who came to pick him up, Ibrahim, and he told them he was already in Benin (Edo State).
This led to residents to organized a search , later found the corpse of the deceased floating on River Owala.”
“Investigation according to PPRO has commenced into the matter.
She said ” We are looking for that his friend that they said saw him last. When he is found, he will be able to shed light on what happened to the deceased I can assured you we will get to the root of the matter”.
