22-Year Old Man Stabs Rival To Death Over Teenage Girl’s Love

A 22-year-old man identified as Muhammed Bala, has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing a love rival, Bakura, to death over a lady who they both wanted to marry in Mararaba-Madagali, Madagali LGA of Adamawa State.

Bala reportedly committed the offense on the 15th of February 2023 at about 9:00 pm at the compound of a 17-year-old girl identified as Maryam Mohammed, after a heated argument.

During his interrogation, the suspect claimed he and his rival have had series of confrontations and had warned each other to desist from seeing Maryam.

It was gathered that on the day of the incident, the duo met at the lady’s compound, and an argument then ensued. The argument degenerated into a fight and in the process, the suspect used a knife to stab the deceased who died from the injuries sustained.

The State Police Spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the incident said the suspect will be charged to court on completion of the investigation.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday, assured that the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.
