Policeman Kills Himself After Shooting Girlfriend Dead

A policeman has shot his girlfriend dead and also killed himself at Agba Dam Housing Estate Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

A sergeant in the Nigeria Police, Kwara State Command, Olalere Micheal and yet to be identified lady were found dead following what is believed to have been ‘a murder suicide’.

Confirming the unfortunate incidence, the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi said that information reached the headquarters about 8:05am today that the police personnel with tag F/ NO 497093 went to Chapel of Redemption, Agba Dam Housing Estate Ilorin to commit the unexpected act.

Okasanmi said the late Micheal Olalere opened fire on the yet to be identified lady before shooting himself on the head and died on the spot.

The Police Spokesperson in Kwara State said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Paul Odama has directed that the two corpses be deposited at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Morgue while investigation into the incidence commences.

Okasanmi however maintained that the issue has nothing to do with Police brutality but love gone sour adding that members of the public will be duly informed as soon as the report is ready.
