The Economic and Financial Crime Commission, (EFCC) on Monday arraigned an undergraduate identified as Austin Onyekachukwu before a Federal High Court for allegedly posing as an American with intent to perpetrate fraud.
The prosecutor, Mr Sulaeman Basheer charged Onyekachukwu on two-count bordering on impersonation and fraud.
He noted that the defendant between August 2018 and June 2019 in Osogbo impersonated a female American with intent to defraud.
He had some documents in his possession, where he represented himself as Lucy, an American lady.
Basheer said the offence contravened the provision of Section 6 and punishable under Section 1(3) of the Advanced Fee Fraud.

The Defence Counsel, Olanrewaju Jayeoba, told the court that the accused is an undergraduate and pleaded with the court to grant him bail.
The presiding judge, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola granted the bail to the defendant after he identified that the father of the defendant was in the courtroom.
He said the father of the defendant should stand for him and produce him in court on November 11, 2020, for trial, ordering that the father of the defendant depose to an affidavit of means and sign undertaken.
