Rituals: Man, 25 Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Pants Of His Brother’s Wife In Ondo

A-25-year old man, Ojonugwa Adejoh has been arrested by the Ondo state police command for allegedly stealing pants belonging to his brother’s wife for money rituals.

Adejoh was arrested alongside with one Prophet Olajide Ogunleye (53), of Celestial Church of Christ, ‘Ibanujemidopin’, Uso, in Owo local government area of Ondo state.

While parading the suspects before newsmen on Wednesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph said they were arrested last week following the report being made by the victim.

But Adejoh while speaking with our Correspondent said, “I didn’t steal the pants for rituals, I just went to the prophet to pray for me because of my work when I got there he asked me the type of my work and I told him that I learnt panel biting work and he said he wanted to pray for me that I should open my hands and he put something on it and asked me to swallowed it and he prayed for me and I left the place.

“But when I got home I don’t know what I was doing again I just started looking for my brothers wife pants and when I got the pants I went back to him to deliver the pants.

“Hours after, my brother’s wife raised an alarm that she didn’t see her pants again and I was arrested. When the police arrested me, I was taken to Uso police station before they transferred me to Akure.

“Two pants belongs to my brother’s wife and three belongs to my younger sister”.

The prophet who also denied the allegations saying that he didn’t ask him to go and steal the pants.

The police spokesman however enjoyed ladies and women in the state to guard their under wears saying that “this is a very dangerous phenomenon now”.

His word, “we are using this opportunity to enjoy our ladies and women that this is a very dangerous phenomenon now, we have to guard whatever we are putting on whether underwear. Parents should warn their children particularly female to be very careful where they kept their wears.

The command has also arrested two local security guards for alleged attempted to rape one woman (name withheld) who was coming back from church around 8pm along popular Agbogbo road, in Akure.

The suspects, Daniel John (25) and Longbap Bongven (25) from Plateau state according to police spokesman said they normally hide somewhere around the area whenever they wanted to perpetuated their act.
