Man, 23, Remanded In Prison For Stealing Pant In Osun

A 23-year-old man, Opeyemi Adeleke, was on Tuesday, remanded in Ilesa prison custody, by an Osogbo Chief Magistrate Court, for allegedly stealing a woman underwear (Pant).
The accused person was arraigned on two count-charge of unlawful entry and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Jafani Musilim, told the court that the accused person committed the alleged offence on January 21, at about 1:00am, at Agowande area, Osogbo, Osun state capital.
The prosecution alleged that the accused person in an unlawful manner, stole the pant of one Gift Sunday without her consent and hid it.
He said the incident took the tireless efforts of the police to retrieve the underwear before the accused person was brought to the court.
The alleged offence according to the Proscutor contravened Sections 249(d) and 3909(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the allegations leveled against him by the police.
Counsel to the accused, Mrs. Susan Ajegbe, prayed the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Mary Awodele, ordered the accused person to be remanded in prison custody and directed the Counsel to approach the court with a formal application for the bail of the accused person.
She adjourned the matter till February 12, for mention.
