7 Kidnappers Arrested In Ondo With 50 Weapons, Phones

The Joint Security Task Force, set-up by the Ondo state government to curb insecurity in the state has arrested seven gangs of kidnappers at Emure-Ile junction via Owo/Akure road.
Parading the suspected kidnappers at the police headquarters, in Akure on Wednesday, the Army Public Relations Officer for Owena Cantonment, Major. Ojo Adenegan and the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Femi Joseph said they were arrested at a hideout inside Emure-Owo Forest during the taskforce raid.
Police spokesman, noted that the taskforce also arrested the kidnappers’ informant who was monitoring the operations of the taskforce in the area while they were apprehended with about twenty guns, 15 dagas, 15 cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, charms, #27,820, as well as clothing materials.
Similarly, the state police command has arrested two suspected weed planters, Friday Ami and Sunday Femi who allegedly assassinated a 75year-old woman, Mrs Modupe Olorunfemi at her Owo farm.
According to him, Joseph said the aged woman was assassinated in February 2017 for allegedly giving security operatives information about their nefarious planting and selling of Indian hemp in Owo area.
